What started as a pristine 1948 Chevy Pick-up build in Johan van Eck’s workshop at Exclusive Rods and Customs took a hard left turn when a client locked eyes on Johan’s dark green, patina-rich cab. “My brother would love that!” he exclaimed, and just like that, the project shifted gears. The mission? To create a badass, patina-styled truck as a surprise birthday gift for his client’s brother—an aficionado of rusty, rugged classics. The catch? The build had to stay a secret and be done at breakneck speed.
